Last year, RSA launched its strongest public relations campaign to date with a series of commercials that targeted Mayor Bill de Blasio’s anti-owner agenda and failing housing policies.
Out of a series of commercials that aired on network television stations such as CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC, an animated commercial titled “The Tale of Two de Blasios,” received the most acclaim. The commercial, which targeted Mayor de Blasio’s politics and hypocrisy, launched to rave reviews from RSA members, the public and several elected officials.
As a result of the animated commercial’s success, RSA’s public relations team developed a second part of that commercial, titled “The Tale of Two de Blasios: Chapter 2.” In this commercial, which launched in early February, Mayor de Blasio is criticized for his failing housing policies that allow tenants with six-figure incomes to live in rent stabilized apartments, as well as those policies that have allowed the City’s homeless population to rise to an all-time high.
This latest commercial will also air on major network television stations and RSA expects it to have another strong impact. With Mayor de Blasio up for re-election this November, RSA’s public relations campaign will target the pro-tenant Mayor throughout the year in order to educate the public on his failed policies and politics-first agenda.
Over the last few years, RSA has heavily invested in our public relations campaign with hopes of having our message resonate with the public and elected officials. RSA’s mission has always been to be the leading voice and advocate of not only its members, but the entire rental housing industry. The commitment by RSA members to pay membership dues in full allows RSA to make strong investments into a public relations campaign that gets our message out.
